5 out of 5 stars Lovely artwork. Soft Yaoi stories with depth.   May 31, 2008

I love this mangaka's graceful artwork. Her 6 stories are very enjoyable, each one unique. This is soft Yaoi which is better than merely a BL.
The story of the same title between 2 school friends is sweet and the extra bonus on their trip after graduation before they have to go separate ways is heartwarmingly sexy.
The second story, "The Idea Love", is a touching story, as one insecured uke keeps falling in love and getting rejected by the wrong men. All he needs to do is to really open his eyes as his love is right in front of him. And when he realizes it, he is afraid to acknowledge it.
"How to be happy" as 2 friends reminisces about the pasts, when one rejects the other's declaration of love 5 years ago, is enjoyable.
"Direction of a Smile" about a bellboy's unreciprocated love for the front desk manager in a hotel is lovely.
"Mix" is delightful and refreshing as one cute uke tries to escape his overwelming emotions behind his glasses during sex.
The last one, Friendship Formula is amusing and cute.
Certainly a collection to return to now and then.

4 out of 5 stars Everything is perfect - 4 stars and a ½   April 6, 2008

All 6 oneshots in this manga are gems. They are mostly about friends that are now becoming more than friends, and a lot of the narrative undercurrent is spent on the feeling of disorientation and the insecurity felt by a character when he realizes that his way of seeing the other person has changed. These blurry emotions are also enhanced by Ueda-sensei's clever play with bad vision - anyone myopic here? How's life when you don't wear your glasses...?

The stories are subtle and tender and very, very charming. The art is also gorgeous, all clean and soft-looking. I recommend!
