Product Description A Cute & Sexy Robot... Programmed For Love & Devotion. Anti-social Kokuyo seems to always wind up in the hospital due to overwork from his busy writing career. Unable to bear Kokuyo's lifestyle problems any longer, his friend Seiki gives him a "replicant," a male android named Shiro, who can monitor his health and do his daily chores...among other things. At first, Kokuyo can't hide his irritation toward the bumbling Shiro, but eventually his feelings begin to change. Will Shiro's puppy-like devotion and dogged perseverance win over Kokuyo's heart in the end?

| Customer Reviews: Does not live up to its full potential... August 10, 2009 The Yaoi Review Antisocial and cranky writer Kokuyo has a bad tendency to get lost in his writing. So much so he forgets to take care of himself and constantly ends up in the hospital. Tired of having to come to his friend's rescue, friend Seiki decides to give Kokuyo one of his company's new prototype replicants (aka android) named Shiro. Kokuyo has always lived alone so the idea of having an intruder in his house to take care of him is not appealing but he caves to his friend's demand and takes Shiro home. I won't go into any more of the storyline because there's not much else to say without giving away too much of the story.
I think the premise of the story is a good one. There's something about male android stories that I do really enjoy but I think this one falls a little flat. The feelings these two develop happen way too fast for me based on how the story was set up. The characters are well drawn and I think they are all pretty sexy. The ukes in the story are the young big eyed kind so if you're not into that, you won't like this one. I'm not a fan of it but I found it to be acceptable here. The sex scenes aren't remotely sexy at all. Even a non-explicit sex scene can be hot if done well but to me these were just random positions thrown on a page to show they had sex. It really added nothing to the story. The translation seemed fine although I don't love the way the speech bubbles were done. If I have to pause to double-check which character a speech bubble is supposed to go to, then that's a fail.
Overall, I wouldn't say I felt this one was a waste of time but I do feel like there was a lot more potential to be had with the plot. It's a cute story with cute characters but zero sexual tension or sexiness to be had.

Love Machine June 13, 2009 Kari C. Milander I Loved this book although the 2nd story should have come first. But anyway It was a good story I loved watching the machine kiss his master while he slept and hearing his thoughts to be quick before he woke up. Though I am curious why his master doesen't remember living with his family or anyone. Someone must have taught him how to live on his own or pay for his education. I also loved the joke saeki told shiro. this story is hilarious. There's also a cute side story in here called My Boyfriend is a Vampire. The vampire by the way is the uke. I suggest you consider buying this book.
Cute androids and their masters May 18, 2009 R.Parklane (Tokyo, Japan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
OK so I have a soft spot for romance between robots and humans and I really enjoy this one. The main story between an anti-social and self absorbed novelist and his endearing android is gentle and sweet as the novelist slowly opens his heart to his android. The last part of their story is especially touching when the android could lose his memories when he has to be reprogrammed. Does this mean he will also forget his love for his master? Is the master willing to take back his once loving android if the android has forgotten all about their times together ?
The secondary story of the scientist (the novelist's friend who creates the androids) and his first male android creation is equally enjoyable as experiment evolves into love.
There is a 3rd android who is returned to the research center after his owner dies and I wish the mangaka has given this android a happy ending. Maybe there is a sequel somewhere. A nice BL to go back to now and then. Maybe some will find the pairing not to their taste as the androids are of course boyish ukes while the masters are "grown men". But this is Yaoi, dear readers.
