this was cute. it reminded me allot of Rin and Sweet Revolution in the way the story played out, and it was very sweet. definatly a style in the way of plots, but its not a bad thing, in fact, i thought Stolen Heart was an innocent romance compaired to some of the other things ive read published by June
The congressman and his secretary stands out in this collection! September 12, 2007 R.Parklane (Tokyo, Japan) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
3 stories here. The main one, Stolen Heart, is a regency piece on court intrigues, royalty and aristocracy. The plot started off well and the idea of a mysterious masked handsome thief pairing a bratty aristocrat is romantically appealing. I like Yukine Honami's artwork but here it just doesn't feel regency. The story is somewhat rushed towards the end. The sex could have been much more explicit as there is nothing innocent about the 2 characters. The final chapter on the thief's long lost brother has potential but too bad it is not explored deeper. On the other hand, if I do not compare every regency Yaoi with Yoshinaga's brilliant "Gerard and Jacques" and "Lovers in the night", "Stolen Heart" is a pretty good read.
The second story on a student and the Student Council's President is just weird. Could not understand this or is it the translation again. Good thing this is short. However the hyperactive student is a cute contrast to the laid back Student Council's President.
My favorite is the last story on a Congressman and his secretary, which is really good. Collin is a successful congressman well on his way to be re-elected. And why not ? He is everything a successful politician should be. He is young, handsome, rich and smart with no dirty laundry, except of course his hidden sexual preference. There are some pretty cool political lines here and both Collin and Paul are very likable. I like how it all pans out for this couple.
