Product Description
Sakuya used to be a fearsome, high-ranking vampire until he fell in love with Atsumi. Now, he's fallen so low that he can't even drink other people's blood because only Atsumi's blood suits his taste. The problem is, Atsumi is not only a guy, but also a vampire hunter! Their love is more than just complicated - it's a game of life and death for them both!

5 out of 5 stars Sooooo good.   July 22, 2008

Such a good book. If you're looking for a romantic, bloody, passionate, sex filled yaoi manga, this is it! <3 X3 I was sooooo pleased. All the great things you expect with vampires is in this book. Lots of yaoi. Endearing characters, emo at times but not overly so, and so sweet. It'll keep you reading straight through, I couldn't put it down. Not overly explicit, but definitely enough to satiate us real yaoi lovers. ;P I suggest it for all fans of yaoi and vamps. The artwork and storyline are to die for.

2 out of 5 stars I couldn't get into it.   June 20, 2008

Perhaps because it's Korean and their story telling style has always confused me, (Nothing against the Koreans; their art is BEAUTIFUL) but this one has been played up so far in the reviews and I just don't think it's that good. There were no sex scenes to speak of, so just to warn you if you are like me and are trolling the Amazon for boy on boy action...(No shame in that!^_^) you will be disappointed. And the plot was so jumbled that I just couldn't get into it. I kept waiting for something to happen that made sense. It never did.

5 out of 5 stars Great vampire yaoi   May 3, 2008

I think like most people I bought this yaoi mainly because of the gorgeous cover and the plot line which promised delicious vampire love. But in addition to that Necratoholic is also full of action and at the same time incredibly funny.

Sakuya is a fearsome, high-ranking vampire lord ... or better was ... until he was ravished by Atsumi, a vampire hunter. Since then he no longer craves blood. But it seems that his loss of appetite is more a matter of heart and he simply want's no other blood than Atumi's.

In addition to the main plot line there are subplots, which are just hilarious: Sakuya and and his manservant Balaur running a S/M love hotel, Atsumi becoming an insurance salesman and trying to sell Sakuya, the vampire, life insurance, ...

This book is an overall enjoyable read and an absolute recommendation. It shouldn't miss in any yaoi collection.

5 out of 5 stars Engaging and cute vampire Yaoi.   May 1, 2008

This vampire Yaoi is one enjoyable read. Fast paced with a nice plot, the characters, both main and supporting, are appealing too. Sakuya the vampire uke is cute. OK he is meant to be scarry as he is after all a vampire lord with noble blood who has been around for a long time. But since bitten and ravished by Atsumi, (a vampire hunter who is borned of a vampire and human rendering him somewhat invincible), Sakuya has somewhat lost his zest for "living". The fact that he now only craves for Atsumi's blood certainly does not help. Of course the main reason is he is just love sick for Atsumi.
Atsumi is equally appealing as we gradually learn of his plight since biting Sakuya.
The plot is amusing too with some whacky scenes as Sakuya and his 2 faithful servants make their living by running a BDSM club/hotel sponsored by another "cool" human character. After all Sakuya is the dominant "BDSM queen" (chuckle). And I appreciate the mangaka's revelation of the 2 vampire servants' background towards the end of the story. Another interesting character appears mid-way in the story, complicating Sakuya's and Atsumi's relationship. He is ofcourse the head of the vampire hunters; does not matter if he is just a kid with brains!
True to a vampire tale, there are plenty of bites, gushing blood and gore but it would have been better if the sex is more explicit. Still the exhilarating storyline and characters makes this soft Yaoi a nice addition to my collection. And I do like this mangaka's lively artwork.

5 out of 5 stars Oh my!   April 24, 2008

I'll be honest, the main reason I bought this was because of the cover image; honestly, it just looked so hot, I had to see what it was for myself.

Boy did this yaoi not disappoint either! Not only is it delicious vampire-on-vampire hunter sex (including love-bites, oh my!), it's got a pretty decent plot line involving a maschoistic vampire with sadistic overtones named Sakuya, who's hell-bent on getting revenge on the man who captured him and made it so the poor vamp can't drink the blood of anyone anymore...or at least that's what he thinks. We soon discover that said vampire hunter, Atsumi, is just what our poor masochist needs and it's quite a playful romp for the both of them from there. How could a relationship in which "I hate you!" is so often meant in an entirely different way than the words are originally defined to be NOT be fun?

The art is great, actually, it's by the same artist who did "Tactics", "Mythical Detective Loki" and "Shinshoku Kiss" (Though she's writing under a different name here) and this has to be a more recent work, because her art is even better than before. It's really an engaging story, I couldn't stop reading once I started and I enjoyed it to the end. I really recommend it for someone who's looking for something where traditional "seme" and "uke" stereotypes and styles just don't apply.
