4 out of 5 stars mmmm Emba....   February 21, 2008

I just finished Wild Rock (it took all of a 1/2 hour to read). The art was lovely and so smooth. Emba is the heir to one clan and our resident seme (also on the cover of the book). Yuuen is the son of another clan's chief; sweet, a little timid and smaller (uke-duh!). Yuuen dresses up like a girl in order to get close to Emba and ask him to stop hunting so close to their clans' land. Instead they slowly fall in love. It's a little Romeo and Juliet-ish, but cute and sweet. I kind of expected it to be a little more hardcore, being that there's a man in a loin cloth on the front, but the scenes were fairly tame actually. They were pretty but not very detailed (the usual outlined or nonexistent boy parts). Despite it being rather tame and the plot unoriginal and thin, I enjoyed it. The art was pretty, especially the few at the beginning and those beginning each chapter. I'd buy it just for those really. I say give it a chance. I think you'll want it as a pleasant addition to your collection.

this is from the same author who did Man's Best Friend. I didn't care for Man's Best Friend but I liked this one better. The story is cute, but if you want to see a lot of sex you'll luck out, theres only two sex scenes in it. But I still enjoyed it, like I said the story was cute. if you do get it dont get confused when you get to the second story. the first and last story is about the guy on the cover and another guy, then the second story is about their fathers. I was confused for a bit untill I realized it.lol

5 out of 5 stars Wild Rock review   February 12, 2008
Violet Black (Nibelheim...)
This book is drawn so beautifully.. I absolutely love the art. I prefer my Seme's to be masculine and my Uke's to be feminine, and that's the style this book is in. The characters are hot!

The story is adorable... There are two main stories and a short at the end. It's a romantic, dramatic, humorous book, with some hot love scenes.

From previous reviews I've read here, I was unsure I'd like this book, but I gave it a shot anyway, and I really like it. It's one of my favorite books in my collection. I didn't want to give any of the story away, but it is really sweet and left me wanting more of this book.

4 out of 5 stars Beautiful.   December 19, 2007

Takashima-sama is an amazing artist, and her skills really shine in this story about two young men (and their fathers, in a side story) from different clans, who fall in love with each other through a series of meetings (with neither of them knowing about the other's feelings). In a way, it is an almost melancholy story in some parts, especially when the background surrounding the two main characters' fathers is revealed. Takashima-sensei never fails to deliver in terms of art and storyline.
