| Customer Reviews: Good continuation August 3, 2010 Ileia Smith (Warner Robins, GA) The book was taking a sinister spin and it didn't disappoint. The bastard Yanagi and the psycho twin Ten are at it again. Yanagi seemed to never have a good relationship with any of his lovers. His last relationship was seriously jacked up and the more you read about it, the more you want to cradle him and feel sorry for him. But at the same time, it's like geez, get some therapy and find a healthy relationship. He knows he's a total hottie and uses that to his advantage. The illustrations and translations are great, the story is great, packed full of emotion and emoding emotion in the reader. The characters can seem stale and predictable, but every now and then there's a curve ball that shakes things up. If you want a lot of sexual content, sorry, not gonna happen. Leaves some to the imagination and at times it doesn't. Great read.
A good continuation of the series... January 17, 2010 The Yaoi Review 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
In my review for volume two, I stated that it appeared this series was starting to take a sinister turn and boy has it. We have the good twin/evil twin dynamic coming out full blast along with the bastard ex who deflowered our Yanagi at a very early age back to make trouble. Who knew Ten was so sinister? Talk about having a brother complex. Makes me wonder just how far Ten is willing to take his love for Arata. Enough to cross the line as brothers to something more?
In this volume we get a much bigger glimpse into Yanagi's past relationship with Naoto and wow, was it messed up. This is the first time I felt like I could connect more with Yanagi and really feel bad for him. We also see a lot of Ten, Arata's twin, and his evil side is in full swing. Funny thing is, he's so sexy that I just can't hate him. He's the best eye candy in the whole book. One other tidbit also comes to light in this volume. We finally find out just why Arata went to the bar in volume one in the first place and why he looked so much different than how he usually looks. It's a little insight into the twins' dynamic.
The illustrations and translation are on par with past volumes and there is sex in this volume but not as often and as explicit as volume one. Overall, this is a good continuation of the series and does make me look forward to what's going to be happening in volume four.

breath volume 3 (May contains spoilers....) September 4, 2009 HatsumiShinogu (Orange County, California) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I was so looking forward to this volume that I started reading it as soon as I got it but I would have to say that I enjoyed the two previous volumes more. It wasn't bad or anything. It was just the lack of Yanagi and Arata's love scenes in this volume that made me a bit disappointed. However there is a sex scene between Yanagi and someone else and Arata had to walk in on them. Talk about bad timing.
In this volume, Arata starts to think deeply about his relationship with Yanagi and somehow realize that he might be in love with him. It could be the time they didn't got together that finally made him realize this. After Yanagi's encounter with his first love, Kashiwagi, he started to withdraw because of his painful past and thus affect his relationship with Arata. He stopped calling him over to his place, which made him a bit worried and insecure. It was at that time that he had to catch him in a compromising position with his younger brother, Ten. It wasn't really what anyone would think and it wasn't what Yanagi wanted but it was all scheming and plotting from Ten's side in order to keep the two men apart and to have his beloved brother all to himself. Ten's true colors will show in this volume and I realized how cruel he is by what he did. He didn't even stop at that. He had to involve Kashiwagi again in order to keep Yanagi away from Arata. The book ended with Arata crying thinking that because he is inferior to his brother that Yanagi doesn't want him anymore. After all, Ten has always been the loved kid since he is full of energy while Arata is the quite, bookworm type who doesn't act his age. Those memories kept flooding made him think that no one will ever love him more than his brother but when Yanagi said that there is no comparison between the two, he didn't mean it that way. He meant that Ten is a monster while Arata is the good one but of course, there is no way Arata would know that.
There is an extra at the end of when Yanagi and Arata were still seeing each other. I think they did good by adding it since we never get to see them in bed even once in this volume, so that made me happy.
I felt so bad for the two lovers and angry at Ten for what he did. Well, it wouldn't be so interesting if things went smoothly and for the story to end so soon, so it has its good points too. At this point, we are not sure what is going to happen next but I just hope that Ten's scheme's will be revealed to Arata and that the two lovers will be back in each other's arms again. I cannot wait to get my hands on volume 4. This is becoming one of my favorite yaoi manga titles.
