Product Description
Seyun, a lithe and catty high-schooler with a mysterious past, and Yoojin, a rough-and-tumble, straight-laced Judo star, have known each other since they were children. Growing up in the same place, they're bound to have differences, and when a tragedy befalls Seyun's family, he's forced to give up his home and move away from Yoojin. A new school, new friends, and years later, Yoojin and Seyun find themselves walking vastly different paths, while struggling to maintain their friendship. But when old feelings start resurfacing, a bitter tug-of-war starts, with hearts in the balance, secrets in the closet, and twists that nobody sees coming!

5 out of 5 stars The cover says some of it...   August 3, 2010
Ileia Smith (Warner Robins, GA)
Seyun is a catty high-schooler with a mysterious past; Yoojin, a rough and hardened, straight-laced Judo star, have known each other since they were kids. And having grown up in the same place with two different personalities brings conflict, differences and disagreements. There's a tragedy in Seyun's family and is forced to move away from Yoojin.
Seyun goes to avnew school, makes new friends, and several years later, they find themselves going down extremely different paths, all the while struggling to maintain their friendship. Old feelings start resurfacing, making it harder not to cross that line and a bitter tug-of-war starts and it gets juicy and exciting from there. Have to read, hate the buried feelings, love the guys together and the cover is hot and well done. It's amazing and touching and passionate.

4 out of 5 stars Cute, nice artwork.   January 28, 2010

I liked this book well enough, but can't understand all the five-star reviews it got (which is what I based my purchase on). Cute story, nothing unusual. Two boys who've been friends for years fall in love. The first intimate encounter between the main characters was too abrupt, rapelike and unemotional for the rest of the story. I almost quit reading it. Moved too fast and skipped so much time that it was hard for me to figure out how much time was passing in this story. Not as satisfying as some stories I've read. The artwork was very nice. It reminded me a lot of Youka Nitta's work.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Yaoi, Worth the Money   January 12, 2010
V. Binfa (Chicago, IL)
Simply amazing. The writing is beautiful; such a well done translation. I usually don't like Korean style manga, but this is just such beautiful and professionally drawn art. It is realistic yaoi, depicting the realistic realtionship between two high school aged guys. There is a depth to this manga-ka's art and writing that I haven't seen in the yaoi genre in a while. The yaoi scenes are yaoi, not boy's love, and they are hot, hot, hot. The emotional scenes will get at least a tear or three out of you, and it's just all very well put together. I can't praise this enough. I wish more authors wrote with the sincerity and honesty that Rakun does, with all the same beautiful attention to detail in their art.

Buy this manga. If you are a yaoi fan, you should not hesitate. This is truly one for your collection.

5 out of 5 stars The best of the best   December 28, 2009

This author cuts through so many stereotypes in such a satisfying way. The art is beautiful, the story is better. Would love to read more by this author.
A wonderful re-read.

5 out of 5 stars Best Yaoi Manhwa Published to Date   September 29, 2009

I first read this Manhwa online at Netcomics & fell in love with it. The story line might be the often told romance about two good friends who grew up together & in high school setting etc... But the execution is flawless! Reading it feels like watching a very well scripted Korean drama. I must have read the book 3x ever since receiving it. I adore both the seme & uke - both are such strong, likeable characters. Rakun also did a great job in weaving other high school aspects such as gang violence, teen prostitution, family support & friendships into the story lines. She also uses lots of humor that make me smile & laugh out loud while reading it.

The art is gorgeous, the characters designs well rounded & the unedited "parts" in the book is a boon. Run, don't walk, to get your own copy if you call yourself a yaoi fan girl. It is a sleeper hit as it is now on back order with lots of the major book retailers.
