Product Description
Toru is a shy and quiet student who has a special crush on his close friend Ryoji, a popular member of the high school swim team. In front of Ryoji, Toru hides his feelings and acts as if he is just one of Ryoji's good friends, but out of the blue Ryoji confesses to Toru that he wants to try experimenting sexually with him. Toru, dazzled, can barely hide his secret desire for Ryoji and accepts his offer. As time passes, Toru's happiness begins to fade knowing that his affair with Ryoji was just a fling based out of sexual curiosity. Adamant about his feelings for Ryoji, Toru confides in another one of his close friends, Kashiwazaki, about his dilemma. The two set off to devise a plan to test Ryoji's true intentions by secretly deciding to lie to him about falling in love. Soon after, Ryoji becomes frustrated and jealous and attempts to pry Toru out of the arms of Kashiwazaki. Just as they planned? Yeah! That is of course until Toru realizes Kashiwazaki doesn't really want to let go! How could he not have seen it coming! Toru and Ryoji both use to hide their feelings from each other, but now they have discovered that they were not the only ones. Will Toru and Ryoji be reunited or will their true feelings for each other go unfulfilled?

3 out of 5 stars Good manga ruined by poor text editing   November 18, 2009
Pratyeka
This is a bittersweet love story about choosing if it's worth it to be with the person you love sexually knowing (so our main character thinks) that they don't love you in return. It's a touching story, and a nice read in terms of length - the pace is perfect for the plot. The problem with this volume is that some text editor decided that manga needed to be spruced up to be more like American comics, and chose roughly one word per bubble to italicize and bold. As far as I can tell, the choices were made almost completely at random. This makes it extremely difficult to enjoy the manga as intended by the original author. An example, with the bolded & italicized word in caps, which is how it ends up sounding anyway:
"That's because you partied and DIDN'T study the night before the exam."
"I'll retire from the swim team AFTER the first semester."
...Now imagine one caps lock word like those roughly every three word bubbles and you have the editing on this manga. It's pretty bad. It's also disappointing, because the manga itself is really worth a read. I recommend at least reading a chunk of this in a local bookstore first to make sure the text editing doesn't piss you off before purchasing.

1 out of 5 stars much better stuff out there...   August 11, 2008

I really dislike this manga. It's bad when you end up getting annoyed with the two main characters. I felt that Ryoji was constantly bullying Toru, who was too much in love to realize he's a fool. Ryoji and Toru's friend Tadashi is the only one who seems to understand what's going on. Whatever I was thinking, Tadashi seemed to say for me, which was good. This book aggravated me on so many levels, especially since the characters make so many painfully obvious mistakes. This whole situation could have been prevented with the truth. There is A LOT better stuff out there, so please save your time and money and don't get this.

5 out of 5 stars Desired Flame   July 3, 2008

"I bought this when it came out, but I moved to different country and left all my collections after few years finally i got them all." anyways
After reading the book. I've notice the story line, it was amazing specially when HE* talked about the Flame part (I know so many things about myths and theirs a myth about a flame whats hotter and whats not, and it amaze me that the author knew about this ancient myth I was happy) and the main character realizing his true feeling. It was worth buying to add for you collection of Yaoi Books, The drawings are good not messy not crappy. I'll recommended this book. I don't care what other reviewers says about this book thats what they think about it. That why its a review for those who read it lol.
